Life gives unexpected turns. Rejection kicks us in the gut. Disappointment steals our joy. Sin nips at our heals. But God restores our souls. He mends the holes and fills the gaps. He gives peace in spite of pain. His acceptance dulls the ache of rejection. Faith knows the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us of our sin. He renews our hope. Looking to our certain home in heaven lifts us from our disappointments. God restores our souls. He gives: Hope to the brokenhearted, peace to the troubled, grace to the sinner, love to the lonely, comfort to the sorrowing, correction to those who wander, and life to all who seek Him. As long as we live in this world, we will have trouble, but Jesus gave us these promises: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV). “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV).
