S – “This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life.” Hebrews 7:15-16

O – Jesus is the “other” priest. He became our great High Priest because of the power of an indestructible life. Jesus, God, is indestructible. It is impossible for anything to ever happen to God and no power is capable of destroying Him. Every fantasy we ever had about any superhero is more than fulfilled in Christ. Even in our imagination, there is none greater.

A – This indestructible High Priest is my Savior! He is my Lord. My protector. My Sovereign. Even my Friend. Mind blowing truth.

P – I bow before you Father and worship at your feet. That you in your holiness and greatness would love me and love me enough to send perfection to die for me. Words cannot express thanks. I lay my imperfect love at your feet.

The Morning Light from Heaven

“Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” Luke 1:78-79 (NLT)

This is part of Zacharias’s prophecy after the birth of John the Baptist. Such beautiful words! The “morning light from heaven”, Jesus came like the sun rising in the morning. We were in darkness, under the shadow of death and the light came to shine on all those in darkness and to show us the way to peace. Because of God’s tender mercy, he rescued us. I was under that curse. I was in darkness. Jesus came into my life and filled me with His light. He is my light and my peace.

Thank you Heavenly Father for your tender mercy that allowed the light of Jesus to shine on us. Thank you for making peace possible for us through Jesus. Thank you Jesus for being the Morning Light that shines on us and shows us the way to life. Thank you for leading me from the shadow of death into the light of life.
