S – “So, dear brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman; we are children of the free woman.” Galatians 4:31
O – Paul is explaining to those who were telling believers they had to keep the Jewish law that Christ has set us free from the law. Just as Ishmael had to be sent away so that Isaac the son of promise could receive his inheritance so we must realize that we are now free from the law and have received our inheritance in Jesus. All who believe in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus are His children and are free from the burden of the law which is impossible for us to keep. Jesus kept it for us!
A – Are we living as children of the free woman? Am I? That doesn’t mean living wantonly. It means living free from guilt, fear, and doubt. I’m a daughter of the King and nothing can change that. Nothing can take it away. I’m free to be who He created me to be. Free to live in joy and praise. No matter how many times I stumble and fall, He will always pick me up. I’m not working to earn the right to stay with Him, I am His for eternity. That’s my permanent condition and the condition of any believer in Christ Jesus. We need to send the slave mentality away, get rid of it and live with the freedom of beloved children.
P – Praise you Jesus! Praise your holy name! Thank you for redeeming me and making me your child. Thank you that I’m yours forever. Thank you I’m no longer a slave but a beloved daughter.

S – “But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.” Romans 5:15-16
O – Four times in these two verses Paul says “Free gift”. Free means free. Free means “not costing anything or charging anything”. If a gift is free then we are not obligated to pay anything. We just accept the gift. We reach out and take it. I have to believe there is a gift. I have to receive it but the gift is mine to keep. If I had to do something to earn the gift, then it would not be free.
A – The free gift brings justification. It’s a gift that the human brain has trouble comprehending. That our perfect, holy Creator would offer us the free gift of salvation and that it would come because His Son, Jesus Christ was willing to life a perfect life for us and then die in our place to pay for our sins. To pay for my sin. He conquered death and rose again. He paid the price for our sin. Now He offers salvation as a free gift to all who believe in Him. It sounds too good to be true but it is true! That is who God is. That’s how much He loves us.
P – Thank you Father for the free gift of salvation. Thank you Jesus for being willing to die for us.

Gospel Of John, the movie
S – “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:30
O – The greatest moment in history. “It is finished.” Jesus accomplished what He came to do. He paid the price for the sins of all humanity. He redeemed all humankind. He fulfilled the law and paid the price for our sin. He finished the work. It was complete. Nothing else needs to be done. All that is left is to believe and receive the gift. To accept his righteousness and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
A – In that moment, Jesus paid for my sin. When He said, “It is finished”, that was for me. He suffered for every sinful choice I’ve ever made or will make. It’s finished, done. There’s nothing else I can do to earn it. All that I do now is a gift for Him. It is a way of showing my love. A way to show I believe. But salvation is complete.
P – Thank you Jesus for paying the price for my sin. Thank you that I belong to you. Thank you for being willing to suffer and die. Dear Jesus, help me to live for you.
S – “This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life.” Hebrews 7:15-16
O – Jesus is the “other” priest. He became our great High Priest because of the power of an indestructible life. Jesus, God, is indestructible. It is impossible for anything to ever happen to God and no power is capable of destroying Him. Every fantasy we ever had about any superhero is more than fulfilled in Christ. Even in our imagination, there is none greater.
A – This indestructible High Priest is my Savior! He is my Lord. My protector. My Sovereign. Even my Friend. Mind blowing truth.
P – I bow before you Father and worship at your feet. That you in your holiness and greatness would love me and love me enough to send perfection to die for me. Words cannot express thanks. I lay my imperfect love at your feet.

S – “But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14 (ESV)
O – Jesus said that whoever drinks His water will NEVER be thirsty again. Once we believe in Him and receive His salvation, we are His forever. He said I will never be thirsty again. I can never lose eternal life once He has granted it. His Spirit lives in me forever..
A/P – Thank you Jesus that I am yours forever! I will never be thirsty again. I will never again be lost in need of salvation. Your promise is true and I believe it. Please use me Lord to share you truth with others.

S – “But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.” Hebrews 1:2-4 (ESV)
O – What a glorious Lord! The LORD Jehovah created the world through Him. ALL things were created by Him. He is heir of all things. ALL things belong to Him. He is the radiance, the reflection of God – Yahweh’s glory shines through Him! He is the exact likeness of God. He is God imprinted on flesh. He holds the entire universe together by His word! AND He made purification for all sins!
A – He is worthy of all my praise, all my worship, all my love. I not only have the privilege of knowing our glorious Lord. He lives in me!! That is a mystery, a grace, a miracle mankind could never imagine on their own. I truly have EVERYTHING I need. I am complete. I can be content.
P – Praise you Jesus! Praise your holy name. You are worthy! You are glorious! I am yours. Thank you. Praise you. Please let your will be done in every part of my life, in every part of this world. In everything concerning me, thank you that you reign supreme.
