O~ Paul is writing to encourage believers and to teach them about what will happen in the end and to warn them of deceptions. He tells them the end won’t come until the “man of lawlessness is revealed”. He warns them not to be deceived and tells them that in the end this man who claims to be God will deceive many. So then, he tells them to stand firm and hold fast to the teaching he has given, his letters, which are now a large part of the New Testament. Hold fast to the written, inspired Word of God.

A~ Whether we live to see the final days or not, there will always be deceivers. There are teachings, testimonies and visions shared by many so how do we discern what is true? Only by the complete, written, Word of God! This Word is our foundation, our guide, and our test for what is true. We mustn’t take any person’s testimony or experience over the written Word of God. This is how people are deceived. Also, we need the complete Word of God not just 2 or 3 verses taken out of context. That is why I need to study His word, read it every day and read all of it. His word protects me from lies and deceptions.

P~ Lord, please protect me by the power of your Holy Word. Help me be diligent in studying and knowing its truth. Protect me from the deceptions in this world. Help me always to stand on your truth as my foundation. Thank you for being the Rock that cannot be moved.
