Come Boldly and Ask God

“…yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:8b-10

These are such exciting verses! Look at what Jesus is saying. He wants us to be bold. Our Father wants us to be bold in coming to Him and in what we ask. He says, “Ask and we will receive.” He shares this after the disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. Do I pray with boldness? I too often temper my prayers. I think I am afraid to pray too boldly because, I think I might not get it or I think it is presumptuous. But God wants me to pray boldly! He says here, “Because of the man’s boldness” he will get what he needs. I need to put boldness in my prayers and to believe God hears. I think part of this is¬†persistence also. The man in the parable kept knocking until the door was open. My part is to keep praying with faith and boldness. The answer belongs to God not me. I am to pray. He determines what the answer is and His will is always for the best.

Praise you Father! Thank you for your great love for us! You are so awesome! Awesome in giving, loving and caring. If only we would trust you more and trust your answers. Father, please give me opportunities to share your truth with others. Open my mouth to speak your truth. I love you, LORD!

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
