Why is Christmas special?

Is Christmas special because of things?

Are I-Pods, I-Pads, I-Phones, flat-screen televisions,

video games, clothes, perfume, jewelry, toys, household goods

and other things the true blessings of Christmas?

Sometimes we think so.

If that is what we focus on, then that is all we see.

I think the ones who have suffered or are suffering loss

know differently.

When we lose a loved one, lose our health, or

a loved one is sick or suffering, our perspective changes.

Christmas is really about the relationships.

It is about being with the ones we love

and blessing the ones we love.

Ultimately it is about the greatest relationship of all.

That God would love us enough to rescue us

from death and suffering.

We celebrate the birth of Jesus,

the answer to our suffering.

The one who gives us life.

Christmas is about our relationship with our Savior and

our relationships with our loved ones.

All the things, without someone to share it with,

are meaningless.

On the other hand, if we don’t have the things,

our loved ones are all we really need.
