Whatever you do…

This morning I was thinking about how I didn’t want to clean house again. Anyway, I ran across something I wrote awhile back which helped me remember a better perspective. I would like to share it:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.” Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do

laundry, dishes, cleaning,

phone calls, letters, digging,

driving, cooking, hammering,

typing, reading, thinking,

solving, creating, speaking,

writing, selling, buying,

walking, running, sitting,

teaching, learning, leading,

living, loving, breathing…

Do it with all your heart!

Do your best.

Put your passion into it.

Care about what you are doing.

Do it with honor and integrity.

Be there in the present moment, giving it your all.

Because you are working for the Lord Jesus Christ!

Not for a boss.

Not for your wife/husband.

Not for your children.

Not for your teacher.

Not for the government.

Not for a coach.

Not for your parents.

Not for yourself.

Not for any man or woman.

The Lord will reward you!

His reward won’t be an earthly paycheck.

It won’t be riches and glory down here.

It will be so much better!

It will be a heavenly reward.

A prize which can never be lost.

An inheritance from the Lord.

Spiritual treasure.

Even for washing dishes?

When I do it with all my heart,

for the glory of the Lord Jesus,

He will bless it.

He will reward the heart that is His!
